Travellers Rest Ensuite Caravan Park

Description

The Park has all the normal facilities, plus TV Antenna for better reception, a clothes line and a dump point for Mobile Home and self-contained van's effluent. 

The Park is set in the tranquil environment of the Avoca River which has two Gazebos, a free gas barbeque, a playground as well as tables and chairs all of which are provided to ensure patrons have a pleasurable ‘stop-over' experience in Charlton.

The Park is owned by the Buloke Shire Council and is managed by a small group of volunteers under the auspices of the Travellers Rest Committee (a sub-committee of the Charlton Forum Inc.) who are very active in respect to maintenance issues and are always looking out for ways to improve the facilities at the Park.

The Park has received a 2.5 ‘Star Rating' from AAA Tourism. This is the maximum rating they can give the Park because it does not have a resident manager. At present the keys are picked up at the East Charlton Hotel, just two doors from the Park, and the next morning the keys are returned to the local Butcher (next to the park) on departure.

The Park is in the middle of the Charlton shopping complex which makes it very convenient for picking up supplies. Charlton is blessed with a number of excellent eating houses such as the East Charlton Hotel, the Cricket Club Hotel the Boyz and Beatniks pizza and pasta restaurant, all within an easy walk from the Park.

Patrons consistently make comments about the Park, on the comment sheet provided. These include "the best they have seen in their travels around Australia", "A real credit to the Charlton Community", and "We really enjoyed your park and our stay in Charlton, we will be back".
